We met at Ohio State in 2018 through mutual friends. We had a lot of fun nights together. Here's Kayleigh fixing Rich's haircut that he got from his next door neighbor when all the barbers and hair salons closed in 2020.
While we were friends for all of college, in 2021, we started spending more time together & going on dates. By the end of the year, we had made it official.
We spent our first year of dating in Columbus, conveniently located down the street (or alley) from each other.
In 2022, Kayleigh moved back home to Cleveland to start medical school. Now the alleyway that separated us had now expanded to about 100 miles of distance.
That didn't stop us, though. Here's Kayleigh visiting Rich in Columbus for Halloween, and...
....here's Rich visiting Kayleigh in Cleveland. We almost always had a fun weekend planned together.
Rarely would we spend a weekend alone.
Look at us go! Look at that mustache!
This is us on our first big camping/exploration trip together. We spent a little over a week road tripping to the top of Michigan's upper peninsula. It's one of our favorite memories that we share.
As we approached our third anniversary, another exciting chapter was beginning- Rich was preparing to move to Cleveland. After years of traveling back and forth and making the most of our time together, we were both so excited to finally live in the same city and share a home.
Our nightly FaceTime calls turned into walks together around the neighborhood, and weekends spent driving up and down I-71 turned into sleeping in on the weekend and having slow mornings together.
We continued making time for fun and traveling together. Some of our favorite adventures include taking the boat out and fishing, spending weekends on Kelleys Island, and discovering new places for date nights. This is us on a trip to Charleston to fish off the beach for sharks & bake in the sun.
In March 2026, while on a trip to San Francisco to visit Kayleigh’s brother and some of our college friends, Rich proposed—and Kayleigh said yes!
No, he wasn’t nervous. No, she wasn’t surprised (just incredibly happy). Yes, she still cried—and yes, we got Taco Bell afterward.
Through graduations, career changes, and moves to new cities, we have always been there to support and encourage one another. Getting married is a milestone we have looked forward to for a long time, and we are so excited to finally become husband and wife!
The Kayleigh & Rich who met back in 2018 would be so proud of how far we have both come and the life we have built together.
